Ensalada Caprese with Sliced Pear

This recipe is a great way to add a unique twist to a classic Caprese salad. Use your pears from this week’s box to create a sweet contrast to the savory balsamic vinegar reduction. Ensalada Caprese with Sliced Pear

Ingredients

2 tomatoes sliced

1 Bartlett pear cut and sliced

Sliced mozzarella cheese rounds

Fresh basil

1 tsp olive oil

1/2 tsp dry oregano (optional)

Balsamic Vinegar Reduction

Salt

Pepper

Preparation

  1. Slice tomatoes and pears.

  2. Layer tomatoes, pear, cheese and fresh basil leaf on a platter. Or chop up the basil leaves then sprinkle them on top.

  3. Repeat layering until you have filled the plate.

  4. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with (optional) oregano, salt and plenty of cracked pepper.
